Why does this site show two positions where other sites show one?
Because the in-game label rotates between the positions a card can play, and a single screenshot only catches one of them. Where two have been observed, both are listed.

Cards are multi-position. The label cycles, so a single screenshot never shows the full picture.

The ten positions
Cards use standard football positions: GK, CB, LB, RB, CM, LM, RM, LW, RW and ST. A lineup is eleven slots, and your formation decides which of them you need to fill.
The label cycles — this is the important part
Watch any card on the Collection screen for a few seconds and its position label fades out and returns showing a different position. Bachira alternates between LW and ST. Kunigami alternates between ST and CB. Barou shows LW and ST.
Cards are therefore eligible for more than one position — and every screenshot-based list, including most character lists you will find elsewhere, records whichever position happened to be on screen at that instant.
It is the most commonly mis-recorded fact about this game. It is also visible in the developer's own art: the official card grid shows Michael Kaiser at RW and Sae Itoshi at RM, while the Collection shows the same cards as ST and CM.
Why it matters for squad building
If cards were single-position, building a lineup would be simple sorting. Because they are not, a card you wrote off as a striker may be the piece that fixes your defence, and a formation you dismissed may be reachable with what you already own.
It also means position scarcity is softer than it looks — everywhere except goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper is the exception
Goalkeepers are the scarcest position in the Collection — 15 cards out of 214 — and the one place flexibility does not help. Goalkeepers do not appear to cycle into outfield positions, and outfield players do not cycle into goal.
Secure a goalkeeper you are happy with early, then treat the other ten slots as a flexible pool.
How this data was collected
Positions on this site come from watching cards across the fade cycle rather than from one frame. Where only a single position has been observed for a card, that is a floor rather than a complete list — the card may have others that were not on screen during capture.
Each card page states which case applies, so you can tell a confirmed multi-position card from one that simply has not been observed long enough.
