Card Rarity and Colours

Colour is the rarity, and it is decided by OVR

The game never writes a rarity name on a card. The card's background colour carries it instead.

Classifying all 214 cards produces something cleaner than expected: the colour bands do not overlap at all. Every card from 50 to 79 is green, every card from 80 to 87 is silver, and so on without a single exception. Card colour is a direct function of overall rating.

That is worth knowing because it means colour tells you nothing that OVR does not. You cannot find an under-rated green card that secretly out-performs a silver — the ladder is exact.

What this means when you are rerolling

Because the bands are exact, a colour change is a guaranteed, meaningful jump rather than a cosmetic one. Pulling your first silver means you crossed 80. Pulling blue means you crossed 88.

It also gives you a fast way to read your own squad at a glance: count the colours. A lineup that is still mostly green is, by definition, mostly under 80.

The single red card

Exactly one card uses the red background: Noel Noa, 102 OVR, in Pros / Master Strikers. It is the highest-rated base card in the game and the only occupant of its band — there is a four-point gap between the top of orange at 98 and Noel Noa at 102.

If you pull it, it plays. There is no lineup where a 102 sits on the bench.

Where the high-end cards live

The 20 blue and 19 orange cards are not spread evenly across the game. They concentrate in a few categories, which matters if you are building around Chemistry.

• Pros / Master Strikers — all 9 cards are 94 or above. The densest category by far, but too small to fill a lineup on its own.
• New Generation World XI — all 7 cards are 91 or above.
• France U-20 Squad and FC Barcha reach 96 and 95 at the top, with green cards underneath.
• First, Second and Third Selection top out at 74, 81 and 83 — these are early-game categories with no blue or orange at all.
